"Here Lies the Scary Good Blend. We celebrate the bright and complex life of these coffees, each unique in their own way, who were roasted so that we may drink. RIP"

We roasted four top shelf lots from different parts of Ethiopia together to produce a harmonious blend that's so good it's SCARY. The cup is crisp and clean with notes of white peach, dry champagne, and fresh blueberry enhanced by a delicate floral undertone.

Finding the Perfect Blend

Red Rooster Coffee Roaster Scary Good Halloween Special Blend
Ethiopia in a Roast

This limited edition blend combines four outstanding Ethiopian coffees to create a perfectly fruity spooky brew. Our wildly popular Worka Sakaro Anaerobic Natural mixes with Hambela Natural, Qunqana Honey, and Tadese Teko Washed to create a cup full of crisp sweetness.

Hambela

The Hambela Wamena washing station is located at the top of the highest mountain peak in the Guji Zone of southern Ethiopia. It supports around 3,900 smallholder farms in the surrounding remote forested land. The station funds numerous social programs including roads, schools, and technical equipment as well as medical expenses and support for women's health care.

Qonqana

Named after the river that runs next to the facility, Bombe Qonqana is the largest and oldest washing station managed by the Cup of Excellence winning company Daye Bensa. Often called the "Mother Station," it serves approximately 1,020 local smallholder farmers centered around the town of Bombe in the Sidama Region of Ethiopia.

Tadese Teko

This traceable single producer lot comes from the Shale village near the town of Worka in the highlands of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. It was grown by Tadese Teko and his family on his 8 hectare farm. Thanks to their hard work and top quality coffee, Tadese is able to send all nine of his children to school.
