 El Ventilador in Pitalito, Colombia
El Ventilador in Pitalito, Colombia

El Ventilador is an eleven hectare specialty coffee farm located 1600 meters above sea level in Pitalito, Colombia. Yesid Galindo has owned the farm for over 30 years and named it El Ventilador, the fan, because the area tends to be windy throughout the entire year. Yesid employs 10 permanent workers and an additional 30 workers during harvest.

His coffee is all processed on the farm. For many years, Yesid only produced washed coffees, but recently he has been experimenting with and perfecting other processes. This anaerobic natural lot was allowed to slowly ferment over 5 days in limited oxygen, intensifying the natural flavors of the varietal.
